During the last week or so the council have been asked by various residents why there has been so many notifications with regard to the electricity supply being disconnected, this is entirely due to the complete overhaul of the power system in the parish to bring it up to modern day standards including new transformers, new overhead lines and new poles, the last time a major upgrade was carried out by Western Distribution was over twenty five years ago and some of the poles are over forty years old. It is envisaged that there will be be a more substantial service with a higher voltage and with a single core wire, power cuts should be greatly reduced. Western Distribution expect most of the work to be completed by the end of the week, so ensuring there are no more major disconnections. Hope this helps to clarify the current situation.
