At the council meeting on Monday night a proposal was put forward by Exmoor National Park that the centre of the village and surrounding area should be classed as a conservation area, after a discussion it was unanimously decided that the project should be carried forward to see what advantages and dis advantages this would make to the appearance of the village by the way of grants and planning etc. To ensure that all residents are involved there will be two public meetings held by the end of September were the concept will be explained and questions answered by the Parks authority, following the outcome of these meetings a final decision will be made by the council on whether to proceed or not at the September or November meetings.
