Good morning,
The council has been advised by Avon and Somerset Police of a scam involving National Insurance Numbers.
The caller will inform you that your National Insurance Number has been compromised or used in a serious crime and they are calling from The National Crime Agency, they will ask you to press 1 on your keypad, on NO account should you press 1 although they will put pressure on you, just terminate the call.
As a general rule, if you receive a call from a stranger and they ask you to PRESS 1 on your keypad, TERMINATE THE CALL IMMEDIATELY.
