During the last few days Avon and Somerset Police have been advised that building leaflets have started to appear through letterboxes in Minehead offering large discounts for building work to be undertaken from roofs to wall building. When the leaflet is followed up they will inform you of what they think needs repairing give you a price on the spot ask for a large cash deposit, when the deposit is paid they will never be seen again. The police advise that you should only use companies and people you know, and if you feel unsure destroy the leaflet and do not answer the door.
