The final details have been released with regard to the above closure, the road will be closed completed from the 2nd January to 10th May (19 Weeks), during the closure it is envisaged that the traffic through Winsford will increase three fold, Somerset Council will be monitoring the traffic especially with regard to the speed and will take appropriate measures if needed, Thorne Lane, Oldrey Lane, Upcott Lane and Furzehill Lane will be signed as not a diversion and if a problem arises the lanes will be closed. The repairs are complicated and the cost is around a million pounds.
