Avon and Somerset have issued the following guide lines with regard to ordering items online.
Make sure you check the web address, criminals can create fake websites that have a similar look to the genuine site and check the spelling.
Check the website is secure by looking for a PADLOCK symbol at the top of the page, all web address should start https which means the website is secure.
Do not pay for goods or services by bank transfer unless you know or trust the person.
The majority of frauds occur on online auction web sites, and if you are selling online and include a photograph ensure that your location cannot be identified, and arrange to meet your buyer if you do not know them at a neutral location and try and take someone with you.
