It is with deep regret that the Winsford Trust have had to remove the swings from the wooden frame, this is due to a crack appearing in the cross member and it is deemed dangerous. The cost of replacing the swings with a metal structure is around £8000 this includes all safety features, as you are probable aware Sue Hayes has started a fund with various village activities that as raised in excess of £3000 so far, the Trust are also pursuing grants which could lead to new swings as well as a modernisation of the green including new benches, new skittle alley and waste bin.
