Five years ago a programme was designed to repair and paint over 200 traditional finger signposts, this was organised through parish councils. In Winsford we have three fingerposts two in the village and one at Spires Cross as you can see after five years they require to be cleaned and in some cases painted. Exmoor Park Authority have taken over the care of these signs and are looking for volunteers to look after the fingerposts for the next three years which are a cherished part of our landscape. A training and safety course has been organised by Somerset County Council for July 6th which is a necessity when working near the highway.
