Avon and Somerset Police have issued an urgent plea for residents who are looking for cheap flights and are using social media and unauthorised websites to obtain these flights, the scam is that you will be contacted by a person saying they are from an airline go through the fake flight booking information, inform you that the tickets are being sent then ask for payment details, after you have made the payment the scammer of course disappears and cannot be contacted, the tickets do not arrive. There has been one case were a couple arrived at the airport to collect their tickets, of course they were not there. If you are buying travel tickets on line you must ensure that the company are a member of ABTA or ATOL the logo’s will be displayed on websites.
