Fraud in Winsford

Good morning,

Yesterday it was reported that a local resident had been the subject of a telephone fraud of over £400.  The resident had reported on Facebook that they were looking for a particular item, they were then contacted by a person who spoke to them and then sent a photograph of what they were looking for, they then agreed a price and paid for the product.  When the product did not arrive they tried to contact the person but the email address had been erased. This case has been reported to the police.

The police have always advised that unless you personally know the person, you should not buy on line from individuals especially through social media.

Have a nice day.
