Born blind in Hull in 1948, I studied in York and Edinburgh before a career in further education including teaching and senior management. I have also been involved in the governance of colleges and the voluntary sector. I retired to Exmoor in 2006 and now enjoy playing and listening to music, walking, beer, current affairs and DIY.
