Avon and Somerset Police have issued a guide with regard to shopping online, when making payment ensure that there is a “PADLOCK” in the browser window frame when you log in or to register, be sure the “PADLOCK” is not on the page itself this will probably indicate a fraudulent site. The other security link is that the web address should begin with “https://” the “s” stands for security. The above indicates only that the link between you and the website owner is secure. If you feel you have received a text or e-mail which you think is suspicious you can forward the e-mails to report@phishing.gov.uk or text to 7726.
